Mo Fan
Mo Fan is the main character of the Versatile Mage. He is the destined guardian and friend of the Beast Totem leader Azure Dragon, who transported Mo Fan from an alternate parallel Earth at the beginning of the Plot. Because Mo Fan is not from the current universe, he can perceive its contradictions, ignore its common sense and can value both humanity and monsters.

Appearance [ ]
An East Asian appearance with black hair and dark-brown eyes. The eyes change color, before attaining Forbidden Curse, according to the Element’s used at the time. He possesses a manly, handsome appearance with a developed, fit muscular physique on the slender side due to his active and dangerous adventures across various monster lands and wars.
When fused with Little Flame Belle, Mo Fan’s body appears as a Fire Deity with his hair, eyes, and randomly along the skin, becoming flames.
Devil Element [ ]
Mo Fan was described to have the most human looking form and retained most, if not all of his sanity while Devil Element is active. As his Cultivation Levels increases and gains more Magic Elements, his Devil Form would be shroud in more Magic Elements.
Personality [ ]
He loves his father and sister but was said to have handed in empty exam papers on purpose just to spite his teachers. He is very intelligent nonetheless and could do very well if he actually tries. Unfortunately on the day where he decided to take his exams seriously, he was transported to the magic world and failed his tests again.
This leads to Mo Fan experiencing an extended period of time being despised and oppressed by the rich and powerful Mu Family led by Mu Zhuo Yun in Bo City. Due to Mo Fan’s attempt to elope with Mu Ning Xue that was seen by everyone as him kidnapping the innocent young lady, Mu Zhuo Yun was implied to have came down extremely hard on people working under him. Mu Bai, Zhao Shen San (Fat dude always with Mu Bai) and many other people blamed Mo Fan for the harsh times that lasted for years.
As he was transported into the Magic world less than 5 years ago, he is seriously lacking in what people view as common knowledge which further worsen the situation of being despised for him (Which led to him needing to learn 9 years worth of education with only 3 months). It also acts as one of his primary motivation to better himself. In his teens to teenager years, he was very hot-tempered even for a teenager plus his inherently high intelligence make him come into conflict with others everywhere he goes though he has matured a lot, he is still not someone people should try to mess with as Mo Fan has proven to be extremely ruthless many times. He has been shown to have no qualms tossing someone to their doom if they wronged him. Later on in life he has shown to be a bit more mature, thinking of better ways to kill opponents first, rather than charging in blindly.
He has also been shown to be quite greedy, he has on multiple occasions taken resources for himself at the direct expense of others. He has also shown to haggle quite forcefully at any opportunity where an exchange of goods or services are involved. In his campaign for more school resources, he has put no less than 230 of his fellow students in the hospital. This also applies to women, taking any opportunity to hit on emotionally vulnerable women and thoroughly enjoy the advances of Tang Yue when she was poisoned with an aphrodisiac. This behavior has not gone unnoticed and is often despised for it, to a point where a «crusade» was formed out of people who utterly can’t stand one another, just to bring this guy down. However, looking at the circumstances he grew up in, it is understandable.
While other people treat him like an idiot, reality is far from it. Although Mo Fan disdains from doing administrative work, planning and playing politics, it is not to be mistaken that he cannot think far ahead and play mind games. Mo Fan is known to seeming act irrationally and doesn’t play by the rules of society, he shows very high aptitude in thinking strategically and is very much capable of playing politics as proven when he easily saw through the ploy of a politician and utterly ruined his scheme with his erratic behavior. But there have been moments of some serious «Mental Retardation», where he, including but not limited to: often has no common sense despite studying for these specific matters, getting fooled by azalea twice, hugely underestimates the values of the things he deals with assuming he actually knows what it does, keeping secrets from Tang Yue and spend 5 minutes in a panic not being able to turn an important artifact before being told that he was only trying to turn it clockwise(in the Egypt’s biggest pyramid visit arc).
But Mo Fan was also shown to have a soft side: He is always shown to instantly react when his comrades or people in general are in danger, he is shown to question himself and the situation when there are large casualties involved even if the situation demands it and he always seeks vengeance when one of his dearest dies even when it is against everyone’s interests.
Despite his seemingly thuggish personality, deep down Mo Fan has an inherent deep respect for scholars, it is especially shown when the Scholar Pang Zhoulong died, Mo Fan did not even hesitate to go against the world to avenge him! This stems from the fact that Mo Fan is in fact an avid learner who is willing to put in hard work to study and better himself. This is also one of the main reason how Mo Fan became as strong as he is.
He is noted by close associates to be a shameless, perverted and heroic ruffian with a solid moral compass. He is also a true foodie who likes to force others around him to eat his target foods, even to the point of changing the Totem Xuan Snake’s palate to roasted, spicy and salty.
His known Nicknames are: Great Demon King (At Mingzhu Institute), One Mage Army (World University Tournament), Bandit King (FanXue Bandit Group), World’s Biggest Hooligan (By higher ranking officials that dislike Mo Fan), Demon and Magic God.

Biography [ ]
The only daughter of Patriarch Mu Zhuoyun, she awakened ice magic earlier than other people and has extraordinary qualifications. Mu Zhuoyun’s daughter, a rare genius ice magician. At 15 years old was admitted to the empire magical university. Majoring in ice. She is Mo Fan’s childhood sweetheart and both of them still have feelings for each other.
Like Mo Fan, she is also one of the World’s Top 100 Listed Naturally Talented individuals, she is in possession of the Natural Born Spirit Element which was ranked 9th place in the World Top 100 talent list. However, it was observed to be an unfair placement as her talent is far more powerful than it initially seems.
Her talent makes her Ice Element incredibly powerful, giving her a natural 2 times and more increase in power and potency in all Ice magic she uses. It was later revealed that this talent increases in potency as her cultivation level increases and can further evolve her Ice Element to higher grades. (Refer to Spirit, Soul and Heaven Grade Element)
It is revealed that because of her talents, the Mu Family’s hereditary Ice Bow is passed to her which helps improves her Magic cultivation speed greatly. Mu Ningxue’s natural born talent does not carry any risk by itself. However, when the incomplete Ice Murder Bow was fused into her soul by the Mu Family, it greatly enhances the ice powers beyond normal humans’ tolerance. This is in fact, a strategy by the Mu Family to use Mu Ningxue’s talents to complete the artifact.
It is also revealed that her natural born hair color is, in fact, black but was turned white by her own power. Though after achieving Super Tier, it was shown that her hair is slowly turning back to black which indicates that she is approaching the level where she masters the power that is constantly tormenting and threatening to freeze her till death.
Although she and Mo Fan are lovers, she gives no quarter to some of his semi-adulterous acts. Although after the events of Kunlun, she seemed to have gained his arrogance after he showed her what it means to fight and push forward.
At the end of the novel, she has completely embraced her destiny as the next Ice Calamity Goddess and is stated to have become the strongest Ice Forbidden Curse Mage in the world.
Unlike Qin Yu’Er, who was born as the Ice Calamity, Mu Ningxue worked her way to become the next Ice Calamity. This is very obvious as Mu Ningxue had openly admits that the untold sufferings brought by her Natural Talent plus the Ice Murder Bow is nothing compared to the the suffering Qin Yu’Er experienced being the Natural Born Ice Calamity.
Abilities and Powers [ ]
Mu Ningxue’s abilities as a Mage is nothing short of impressive. This, however, does not just come from her talent but also her own hard work. Growing up in the environment that makes her wants to run away and later watching her actions caused so much trouble for Mo Fan, his father and everyone working under her father makes her realize that the only way for her to escape all these is to become strong herself. Mu Ningxue devotes all her time into cultivation and is known as Ice Beauty. Her powers are only second to Mo Fan.
Soul Seed Domain: Vast Ice Domain
After her ice element evolved into the heavenly seed, she gained the forbidden domain rule: Snow Goddess Sneer. Which allows her ice magic to destroy any other ice magic in her presence.
Her Ice Element also receives the Parthenon Blessing and gains a 1.5 times or more boost.
Mo Fan/Cultivation
As the owner of the Natural Talent: Dual Element Awakening which allows Mo Fan to awaken 2 Elements each Mage «Tier» he is nothing short of a Magic powerhouse. Mo Fan’s fighting style is full out aggressive as noted by many people that while most mages hurl spells while keeping as far away as possible from monsters, Mo Fan was seen on almost every occasion to charge headfirst at the most powerful monsters in sight. He has awakened just about every Element that is considered most «violent» or destructive so far.
Although Mo Fan tends to seemingly charge brainlessly into the middle of battle, the most deadly aspect of him is not his immense firepower but his deceptively fast ability to think on his feet and showing no qualms in displaying ruthlessness when required. Coupled with the wide array of options Mo Fan has at his disposal, he was called «One Mage Army» on several occasions as a result.
Mo Fan is by no means is invincible as he has stated on multiple occasions that naval battles are not his forte. This is not attributed to one factor but various. One of the factors is because Mo Fan does not have a naval battle based Element, in addition Mo Fan does not know how to swim or dive. This results in him being unable to factor in scenarios faced in naval battles (water surface or underwater) while training his magic elements. All these contributed to him being unable to fight as hard as he should despite having twice as many Elements as other people. This weakness has been filled after reaching Super Tier.
However, it was stated by a famous Forbidden Curse mage that if Mo Fan were to get all his 8 elements to Super tier, that even without the devil element, an army of super tier mages may not be a match for him.

Firsts’ Order [ ]
When the Red Devil’s ritual was completed, Leng Lingling asked Mo Fan if he had become Forbidden Curse Mage after the Sacred Evil God’s Ritual was concluded, Mo Fan said that he thinks it might be far stronger. It was quickly admitted by Archangel Sariel that he had set Mo Fan up to become the next Evil Sacred God, an Emperor Level Dark King in order to justify killing him for the survival of humanity. This was later confirmed that Sariel had been working under the orders of the Archangel Michael to set Mo Fan up in order to create a reason to kill him. They were not interested if Mo Fan can control the evil power, the Archangel was convinced that a disobedient renegade like Mo Fan will surely become a threat to all humans on the planet and deserves to burn in hell for all eternity.
His plans was met with many hindrance and had to conduct a fair, holy trial to determine whether Mo Fan deserves death or not. Despite the Holy City’s efforts in manipulating public’s opinion through information control, the Ten Great Factions in the world who wanted more autonomy used Mo Fan’s Holy Trial to make a statement to the Holy City and caused Mo Fan to found innocent! This antagonized Michael who decided to punish the foolish humans starting by destroying the Magic powers of the Jury Members, all of which were Super Tier and above. The Archangel proceeds to ignore the results of the fair trial and execute Mo Fan but Mo fan came back from dark dimension(Hell) with Mu Bai’s help. After coming back from dark dimension Mo Fan once again had a fight with him and easily overpowered the latter through the use of individual Elements versus Elements with Michael and even ripped off 2 Wings from the 16-Wings Seraphim. This caused Michael to use God’s Mountain, that only works on all Orthodox and not Heretical Mages and claimed that the God’s Mountain suppression is evidence that Mo Fan is a heretic who deserves to be killed. However, many people in the Holy City knew otherwise. When Mo Fan awaken to the Creator God of Magic’s level, Michael screamed in agony and jealousy saying «No! This cannot be true! I am the loyal caretaker of Magic! He is just a heretic! He cannot awaken the true nature of Magic!»
The newly ascended Magic God proceeds to use a Fusion Forbidden Curse of Twelve Magic Elements to punish Archangel Michael by trapping him inside the other side of the Dimension which ended with Michael escaping by sacrificing all remaining wings. Michael was described as physically aged greatly from the ordeal, however, he was still able to throw Forbidden Curse Level Magics at Mo Fan who easily destroyed with his bare fists.
Mo Fan was prevented from killing by the appearance of the remaining Archangels Uriel, A senior 16-Wing Seraphim and Raphael, a 14 Wing Seraphim, together with Remiel, they showed their tolerance and magnanimious towards the unknown by recognizing Fusion Magic as a legal magic that everyone can practice and Mo Fan is free to spread Fusion Magic Teachings on the conditions that Mo Fan must let Michael off stating that a mere inferior mortal like him is not allowed to punish Michael, his superior and that Michael is beyond reproach! Thus must not be punished no matter what.
This resulted in a brief standoff between Uriel vs Mo Fan, Raphael vs Mu Ningxue and Remiel vs Ye Xinxia and the Angel armies under these Archangels jurdisction standing off with Parthenon’s Knights, Zhao Manyan and the Totem Beasts. This standoff was broken when Zhang Xiaohou used the Chaos Abyss to bring Sacred Totem Azure Dragon to the battlefield.
Under Mo Fan’s orders, Michael was punished not only to be stripped of his Archangel’s ranks, but also all his Magic Cultivation and have a clearer, better look at the world and the sufferings of the people. The Real Modern world Magic God does not expect Michael to know the suffering of everyone in India, Russia, China, Australia, Africa and America. At least learn the true suffering of Europeans under the hands of monsters

The first Four Stages of Magic are denoted by Tiers and levels. High Tier Level 2 etc. This is when the Mages are still bound by the established rules of Stars and Star Maps. When a highly skilled Super Tier Mage is strong enough to form a Star Bridge leading to the other side, they no longer needs to follow the rules of Stars and Star Maps. Therefore, the naming changed and there is no more ‘阶’ or Tier mentioned on the Level. They are simply referred to as Half Forbidden Curse.
Half Forbidden Curse Mages are capable of casting High or Super Tier magic rapidly, with sufficient practice and knowledge, casting a spell made out of 7 Star Palaces without having a single star available as all their stars have been used to form the Star Bridges.
Half Forbidden Curse onward, the naming and capabilities are meant to hint a completely different level from before.
Elements [ ]
Mo Fan’s magical powers have been strengthened and cultivated to levels incomprehensible to normal magicians, even those of a super-tier level of cultivation. His dark pendant allows him to capture souls of defeated magical beasts, which is a common property of magical vessels. Mo Fan’s dark pendant has a very special and unique property which converts these captured souls into spiritual essences, which can be used directly to strengthen his stars. Upon strengthening 7 stars with servant level spiritual essences, he will unlock the 4th level of the Novice Tier. 49 spiritual essences are required to strengthen a mid tier magic to the 4th level and 343 spiritual essences are required to strengthen high tier magic to the 4th level. To increase to the 5th level of a tier, warrior level spiritual essences are required.
Extraordinary Power [ ]
Upon achieving Super Tier level 2, Mo Fan has gained Extraordinary powers. Two of his Extraordinary powers have been revealed. One is Body and Magic Elements becoming one. Lightning Element has become one with his body’s acupuncture points. Fire has become one with his heart. Shadow is his arteries. Earth condensates in his bones. His left eye is Chaos, his right eye is Void and his blood is the Devil.(chapter 2280)
Extraordinary Power: Mountains Ragdolling Lightning Scenery. This spell is the fruits of labor between Mo Fan’s deeper insights into the realm of Super Tier and the use of Chaos Element’s ability to reflect Lightning back to supercharge himself. The result is the Mountains Ragdolling Lightning Scenery Spell. A full one kilometer thick lightning bolt that splits into hundreds more in all directions and in turn each of these hundreds of lightning bolts would split into another hundreds more. This spell is speculated to be able to One Hit KO a Great Monarch because its base power estimated to be nearly 10 times stronger than the textbook Super Tier magic yet, the author confirms it can only do damage equivalent to a knife to the back or shoulder on a Great Monarch at best.

Ознакомился с этим образцом китайских аниматоров. Ну что – не плохо. Даже продолжение хочется глянуть. В то же время – далеко не шедевр. Сама история интересная (хоть и штамп – но что сейчас не штамп?) и имела большой потенциал. Но вот при просмотре всё время не покидает ощущение того, что сериал делался для детей (ну я довольно взрослый). Но думаю тут дело в общей культуре Китая. Возможно им хватает таких вот упрощённых эмоций – как и индийцам. Населения очень много, но большинство не очень то и образованы. Так что к просмотру рекомендую, но не ждите многого, особенно если желаете чего-то серьёзного. Рекомендую сравнить с Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (Непутевый ученик в школе магии (2014, Япония, ТВ, 26 – разница на лицо.
Красивая графика, захватывающий сюжет (все ждёшь, когда же он выложит свой козырь). История не нова: «Кто был никем, тот станет всем» или «Рокки придёт и морду вам набьет», но интересная.
Если вы не фанат китайских романов то сюжет и диалоги могут вызвать некоторое отторжение, графика тоже слабовата.
Сюжет весьма заезжен для китайских рассказов, главный герой изначально слаб и беспомощенлибо был силен, но по каким то загадочным причинам потерял все свои способности. ГГ через культивацию возноситься над конкурентами и показывает кто же тут пуп земли.
Очень хороший проходняк.
В начале просмотра первой серии отнёсся скептически к данному произведению. Напоминало пародию на аниме, китайский опенинг, рисовка, диалоги, имена персонажей. Вроде рисовка как рисовка, но что-то не так. И давно тоже читал комменты что нет ни одного нормального китайского аниме.
Но всё равно хотелось смотреть дальше, сюжет хоть и монотонный, но насыщенный событиями. Весь сюжет хоть и был слегка оригинален, особенно прокачка магии, но состоял из клише и шаблонов. Типа унижение бедных богатыми, насмешки над неудачником, зависть к успеху, уважение перед сверхсилой, злодеи, герои, монстры. Всё это срисовано с других произведений и это сразу видно. Интересно было наблюдать за развитием героя с необычными способностями, развитием всех персонажей и ходом всех событий: школа магии, поединок, нападение монстров. И конечно современные авторы вдохновляются мморпг.
