Одно из лучших романтических аниме, которое я когда либо видел. Потрясающая работа о дружбе и преданности. Смотрели втроём, рыдали полночи! Сплошной эмоциональный надрыв в каждой серии, просто ком в горле! Даже ультраслезливая Anohana и Clannad не вызвали такую бурю эмоций. Отдельного внимания заслуживает графика, которая по меркам бюджетной OVA сделана на высшем уровне. Единственный существенный недостаток — слишком короткое. Тут как минимум нужно было снимать 12 эпизодов.

К сожалению, многослойность философского подтекста и восточный подход не позволила мне, западному человеку, до конца понять глубину замысла создателей этого поистине необычайного произведения.
А образ Коко привносит новые краски в это хитросплетение детских судеб. Город, каменные джунгли, которые мы отвергаем, были приняты Пико со всей детской непосредственностью и доверием. Значки, которые Пико подарил Коко символизируют разрыв той скорлупы одиночества, в которую Коко замкнулся из-за ненависти окружающих людей.
В каждом из нас живет маленький ребенок. Вспомните детсадовские годы, вспомните тот апофеоз счастья, который сочится сквозь бренность взрослой жизни и пусть ваше сердце, зачерствевшее в жизненных невзгодах, отзовется на добрую улыбку Пико и его задорный детский смех.
